A school fee register stops matching the bank because the receipt, the concession and the UPI credit are three different records. The parent has paid. The register still shows a due. 1. The bank and the register disagree

Cash is written when the clerk has a minute. UPI lands in the school account with a name that does not match the admission number. The sheet is filled after the last period, or skipped when the teacher is absent. A student who left after the first period is still present on the monthly report. The parent hears about it at the gate, not in the morning, because the office does not have the list yet.

4. A new session wipes the old due

The new register starts blank. Last year’s unpaid balance is supposed to be copied forward. Some students are copied. Some are not. The school then chases the wrong families and misses the ones who still owe.
